Older Australians generally want to live independently at home for as long as possible. As people get older they may find they need a bit of help to enable them to do so. This session:

  • Analyses the government subsidised Home Care Package including who is eligible
  • Outlines the steps involved with receiving a Home Care Package
  • Identifies the amount of financial support that can be received as well as the costs paid by the Package recipient
  • Reviews the income test and some strategies that may reduce the income-tested care fee
