How the economy was faring heading into the Delta outbreak

The June quarter GDP data showed the economy expanded a solid 0.7%, reflecting strong momentum ahead of the recent disruptions.

The data for the current September quarter will be released later this year. It will almost certainly show GDP shrunk by more than 2%, led by a downturn in the NSW economy. Economic activity bounced back quickly after previous lockdowns. But this time around, there are questions whether the economy will rebound as fast as it has in the past.

Most income streams are sourced from account based pensions and insurance companies (annuities) with the same and concessional tax structure for both.
