How fees are calculated

The information provided through this estimate:

• is based on the information you entered;

• assumes the account balance is invested for the whole year in the asset classes you entered into the calculator; 

• for BT Panorama fees before October 2025, except for expense recovery,

  • are based on the fee schedule set out in the current disclosure documents (opens in new window) for BT Panorama Investments or BT Panorama Super dated 1 April 2025 if you have selected “standard fee arrangement”;  

  • are based on the rates that you have entered if you have selected “historical individual fee arrangement”;

• for BT Panorama fees from October 2025, except for expense recovery, are based on the fees set out in our recent communications to you about the planned BT Panorama Pricing (opens in new window);

• for BT Panorama expense recoveries are based on the actual rates charged for the 2023-24 financial year;

• in relation to the comparison platform(s), is based on the information you entered into the calculator;

• does not take into account any fee caps that may apply to a Super account in accordance with Protecting your Super legislation; and

• does not take into account any transaction account fees (this is the fee BTPS earns for managing the amount held in your clients’ transactions accounts) or other fees and costs that may apply to some or all of the available investments (such as advice fees, transaction fees, transaction costs, external broker fees, transaction account fees, performance fees, other indirect costs, investment management fees and any applicable buy/sell spread charges).  

This means that the total costs payable by a client in respect of the products will be greater than those specified in the results.

Other platform fees

The figures may not provide an accurate comparison of the total costs of the platforms - for example:

• the calculator assumes that all administration fees across platforms are comprised of:

  • a percentage asset-based fee subject to a minimum (if applicable) and a fixed dollar account-based fee (based on the chargeable assets selected);

  • a percentage based trustee fee (based on total account balance); and

  • a fixed dollar amount and a percentage based amount (based on total account balance) for expense recoveries.

    Please note that the components and their basis of calculation may vary across platform products (including, for example, the application of minimum fee) and other platforms may include other components in their administration fee;

• a platform may incorporate provision for other fees and costs in their administration fees;

• a platform may have other fees for which BTPS has not made provision for in this calculator (including, for example, a fee for managing cash/transaction accounts, transaction fees, corporate action fees, additional custodial fees or other service or investment fees);

• if you have entered more than one tier for administration fees, the fee percentage applies only to that tier of your client's account balance. On other platforms your client's account balance may determine a fee percentage that applies to your client's entire account balance; 

• on other platforms, the administration fee rates may be different for different investment options, for example, investment options that are issued by an entity related to the platform provider;

• on other platforms the same trustee rate may not apply to each chargeable asset however the calculator assumes the same trustee rate applies to all chargeable assets; and 

• on other platforms, more than one tier may apply in relation to trustee fees.
