Switch Investment Options

Before you proceed

What you need to know about buy-sell spreads

Buy-sell spreads are incurred when you add, withdraw or change your investment options. They represent certain transaction costs such as brokerage incurred when transacting. They are not a fee paid to us; however they are an additional cost for you.

You should consider these costs when making any investment decisions.

Switching

Switching means withdrawing from one Investment Option to invest in another. Please note that this may have Capital Gains Tax (CGT) implications. If you don’t currently hold units in the Investment Option you want to switch to, you’re unable to complete the transaction as a switch. Instead, you’ll need to request a redemption and an application into the new Investment Option. To apply, complete the relevant Application Form available on our forms page.

If you hold units in one of the BT Investment Funds:

  • Switching is available for all Investment Options excluding BT Cash Management Trust.

If you hold units in one of the BT Investor Choice Funds:

  • Switching is available for all Investment Options excluding BT Cash Management Trust.

Switching to or from Investment Options in the BT Classic Investment Funds range:

  • If you are an investor in certain Investment Options in the BT Classic Investment Funds range, you may be able to switch to or from one of the BT Investment Funds Investment Options. If you switch out of an Investment Option in the BT Classic Investment Funds and it results in a zero unit balance, you will be unable to invest in that Investment Option in the future. Please refer to the BT Classic Investment Funds PDS for further information.
