Managing your super can be as easy as online banking with BT Super for Life. When you log in to your Westpac, St George, BankSA or Bank of Melbourne online banking, you can check your super balance, transfer funds from your bank account to your super, and change your investment options.
It will make it easier to keep track of your super and you don’t have to wait until your annual statement arrives to see how it’s performing.
You can choose how your super is invested. We can invest your super based on your age and automatically adjust it to a more conservative asset mix as you get older, or you can choose your own investment mix.
We'll do the hard work and invest your super based on your age in a MySuper Lifestage Fund. A Lifestage Fund is a well-diversified portfolio of assets designed and managed according to your age. Over time, the fund will gradually shift to a more conservative asset mix by decreasing its allocation to growth assets and increasing its allocation to conservative assets.
If you prefer to choose your own investment mix, you can select from a range of investment options covering specialist, actively managed and index funds, sector-specific and diversified options.

After we’ve tracked down your super, we can help you transfer it into your Super for Life account, if you decide to do so. Once we’ve got the process underway, all you’ll need to do is either 1) jump online and confirm which funds you wish to combine or 2) we’ll send you out the paperwork and all you need to do is sign them and return them to us.

There are two insurance options available to eligible members of BT Super for Life; Standard cover or Customised cover.
Eligible members will receive pre-approved Standard cover when they open a BT Super for Life account – this provides insurance cover for Death and Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance. There is no need to complete medical checks or submit any forms. The amount of insurance cover is based on the member’s age, and the cost of the insurance cover is based on both the member’s age and gender.
NOTE: Please be advised that this insurance cover, and the payment of an eligible insurance claim, is subject to a Pre-existing condition clause (PEC). Other exclusions may also apply. Please refer to the PDS and Additional Information Booklet for more information about exclusions that apply to Standard Cover.
An eligible member can apply for up to three insurance options based on a combination of Death Only, Death and Total and Permanent Disablement, plus Salary Continuance Insurance cover (sometimes referred to as Income Protection insurance). The member is given flexibility regarding the amount of insurance cover they can apply for, however approval is not guaranteed and is dependent on the results of a medical assessment. The cost of the insurance cover will be based on the member’s age, occupation, gender, smoker status, pastimes and pursuits and the type and amount of cover requested.

Superannuation is a long-term investment. The Government has placed restrictions on when you can access your preserved benefits. The Government has set caps on the amount of money you can add to superannuation each year on a concessionally taxed basis. In addition, the Government has set a non-concessional contributions cap.
