Additional insurance options

BT offers other insurance solutions for your specific needs.

Needlestick Benefit

If you’re a doctor or medical professional, at some stage in your career you may contract a bloodborne disease through a workplace accident. If you are employed as a professional, our needlestick benefit may be right for you.

You can be covered for up to $1,000,000 and we'll pay the sum insured if you are diagnosed with:

  • occupationally acquired HIV, or
  • occupationally acquired hepatitis B or C.

Children's Benefit

As a parent, it is unthinkable that anything bad could happen to our children. However, many young children are diagnosed with serious medical conditions each year and, tragically, some children lose their life through accidents or illness.

Although our Children's Benefit can't prevent this sort of tragedy, it can help ease the financial impact of such events. In some cases it could give your child a better chance of survival and quality of life.

BT’s Children's Benefit pays a lump sum, up to a maximum of $200,000, if your child suffers from one of a range of specific conditions.

Homemakers cover

Even though full time homemakers don't earn an income, we recognise that it would cost a substantial amount of money to pay someone else to do their job when they can't.

That's why we offer a Home Duties option in our BT Income Protection Assured insurance policy.

The Home Duties option provides a monthly benefit for homemakers if they become severely disabled, due to sickness or injury, and are unable to perform their normal household duties.

The maximum benefit for Home Duties is $5,000 per month for 2 years.

Key Person Income

Key Person Income is designed specifically to help small businesses protect against revenue loss as a result of sickness or injury to a key person, whether they are a business owner or key employee.

You can be covered for a period of 1 year.

Please note that the new Key Person Income contracts can no longer be issued. References to Key Person Income relate to existing policies only.
