Why BT insurance?

Not all insurance policies are equal, so it’s good to check what added benefits you get with your cover.

Since 1987

BT has been protecting Australians and their families since 1987. BT Protection Plans offer more than just a monetary pay out if you are sick or injured. They also provide real support to get you back to health and work.

BT has helped thousands of Australians

An unexpected event can turn your life upside down, and that’s when insurance can offer a valuable line of financial support. BT understands this. In 2017 3,789 BT Protection Plans customers and their families received financial assistance when they needed it most.

The benefits included $384 million of life insurance claims featuring payments of:

  • Around $171 million to help families cope with the loss of a loved one

  • $127 million in lump sum payments to help our customers with sickness and injuries

  • Almost $80 million paid in monthly instalments to help customers who were unable to work due to sickness or injury.

* The insurer of BT Protection Plans is Westpac Life Insurance Services Limited.
