Starting a new job, joining a new company, or perhaps even starting a career can be daunting. That’s why we’re here to help you all the way through and get you set up for success.


First - a reminder about your Background Check

By now you would have completed a Background Check through our partner First Advantage. We wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that your start-date is dependent on this check being completed and returned with a satisfactory outcome.

The timeframe for this can vary depending on the level of your role, and if you’ve lived and worked elsewhere in the world. For any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to contact your Talent Acquisition Specialist who’ll be more than happy to discuss this in greater detail.


What will happen now 

  • Once you’ve accepted your letter of offer, and filled in a few forms, we’ll get your onboarding started.

  • You’ll be invited to participate in a digital onboarding experience that you can access via any smartphone, tablet or computer.

  • This will enable you to communicate with your new manager and team, ask any questions, prepare for your first day, and sort out any remaining details. 


Your first day and beyond 

We know that settling in takes more than just finding your desk. Once you’ve started we have a suite of programmes to help you settle into your team and  learn how to navigate and access all the fantastic things we have to offer;

  • Orientation
    In your first month you can expect a full day of interaction, activities, immersive learning experiences, networking and hearing from our senior leaders. You will also find out more about how Westpac Group works, how to get things done and the services available to you.

  • Field experience
    It can be all too easy for teams to get disconnected in large businesses. We want to make sure that our people and teams know and understand each other. To help with this we offer field experiences where you will explore different teams and environments to help you develop a broader network, and most importantly to understand the needs of our customers.

  • Role ready
    Different roles have different needs – you know this and so do we. Using our digital learning platforms, at present our 40 (and counting!) most common role types have access to detailed, tailored learning experiences to equip you with the training, capabilities, tools and resources required to allow you to be your best.
