Is it possible to still open a new Asgard account?

No. Most Asgard products were closed to new applications in 2021.

To prepare for the move, the remaining eWRAP products were closed to new members and investors effective 18 May 2025. These include:

  • Asgard Open eWRAP Investment, Super and Pension
  • LifeFocus Private eWRAP Investment
  • LifeFocus Wholesale eWRAP Investment, and
  • Personal Choice Private eWRAP Investment.

New accounts will continue to be opened within Asgard Open eWRAP Super/Pension for super to pension transfers and reversionary pensions. Other requests where a new account is required for existing members will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

How will the accounts be moved?

Super/Pension accounts will be moved via an intra-fund transfer (IFT). Both Asgard and BT Panorama are part of the same Asgard Independence Plan Division Two (Div 2) super fund. As such, members will remain in the same super fund with the same trustee, and there will be no change in beneficial ownership of assets that are transferred from the Asgard Plan to the Panorama Super Plan within the Div 2 super fund.  As a result, there will generally be no Capital Gains Tax (CGT) impacts. Similarly, the transfer of investment accounts generally won't trigger any CGT, transaction costs or buy/sell spreads.

When will the accounts move over?

We are planning to move open Asgard accounts to BT Panorama in the first half of 2026. We will notify you of the exact date of the transition weekend in early 2026.

Will the move occur all at once or in phases?

All accounts will be moved over the scheduled transition weekend. We will notify you of the date well ahead of time.

Can I move to BT Panorama immediately, or do I need to wait?

Speak to your financial adviser, if you have one, as they may be able to move your account earlier.

If you do not have a financial adviser, you cannot move your account earlier.

If you decide you don’t want to have your account moved to BT Panorama, refer to Know your options for information on how you can close your account.

I do not have a financial adviser; how can I find one?

If you don't have a financial adviser and would like to find one, you can visit the BT Find an Adviser tool. The tool only contains financial advisers who use the BT Panorama platform and who consented to be included in the tool, so you’ll be able to find an adviser who is familiar with the platform and ready to support you with your account. To access a broader range of advisers, please refer to the ASIC MoneySmart website.

Can I opt out of having my Asgard account moved to BT Panorama and stay on the Asgard platform?

No. There is no option to retain existing accounts on the Asgard platform.

However, we understand you might want to look at other options before your account moves to BT Panorama. If you have an adviser, they can help you with this.

If you’ve considered other options and you decide you don’t want to have your account moved to BT Panorama, here’s some things to consider:

  1. If you have an investment account, you can request to transfer your investments out via an in-specie transfer or you can request to sell all your investments and close your account. The request must be submitted at least 21 business days prior to the transition weekend.
  2. If you have a super account, you can request a full withdrawal and account closure (if you meet a condition of release) or a rollover to another super fund. The request must be submitted at least 6 business days prior to the transition weekend.

For more information, visit the transferring your super and super withdrawal options sections of the ATO website.

Account closure and rollover request forms are available from the Resources section.

Will I have to verify my identity as part of the move?

While you are not required to verify your identity as part of the move, to ensure compliance with current Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) legislation it is important your identity verification status is up to date.

If you have a financial adviser, your adviser can confirm your identity verification status and assist you to verify your identity if required.

If you do not have a financial adviser, you can confirm your status via Investor Online > Account > Account details. If your identity is not verified, please ensure to complete the identity verification form available from the Resources section.

Will there be a trade and transaction freeze period prior to the transitioning weekend?

Yes. To allow us to prepare for the move on the transition weekend, there will be a trade and transaction freeze for a short period prior to the transition weekend date.

Read more on the trade and transaction freeze.

Will there be an outage on Asgard during or after the move?

There will be an outage during the transition weekend only and read-only access to Investor Online will be available on the following Monday so there will be minimal disruption. Read only access to Investor Online will remain until early 2027 to allow you to access historical transaction information.

Will I receive confirmation once my account has moved successfully?

Yes, in the days following the move you will receive a Welcome pack with instructions on how to log into BT Panorama and activate your account.

  • Fees, access to historic account information and more

What fees will apply to my accounts after the move?

BT Panorama is planning to change its pricing in October 2025. You can find out more about these BT Panorama pricing changes and how they will be applied you your account once moved on the fees and charges section.

I have a financial adviser; will my existing advice fee arrangement be moved?

Most existing advice fee arrangements will be transferred to BT Panorama on the day we move your account and will continue until their expiry date.

A small number of arrangements cannot be transferred. Read more on fees and charges.

How will fees be deducted during the month the accounts will be moved?

For the month in which the accounts are moved to BT Panorama, administration and advice fees will be deducted in two parts:

  • For the period leading up to the transition weekend, a part month administration and advice fee (where applicable) will be calculated and deducted from your Asgard account.
  • From the date we moved the accounts to the end of the month, a part month administration and advice fee (where applicable) will be calculated and deducted from your BT Panorama account.

Will all my account features remain the same?

There will be some changes to product features and impacted members and investors will be notified. You can read about all changes related to the move on Getting ready.

Will my existing correspondence preferences remain the same?

Yes. Existing correspondence preferences will be moved to BT Panorama. But, if your current preferred communication format is paper-based, we encourage you to switch to online communication, so you can access them more quickly as an email notification.

To update your existing correspondence preferences prior to the move, login to your Investor Online account then select Account > Manage my account > Change account details > Investor Correspondence. Or complete the Update member/investor details form.

Once your account is moved to BT Panorama, you will have access to the document library where you can store, share and access important documents.

Note: BT Panorama does not offer the option to switch to paper-based correspondence, so if you do change your preference to online, you will not be unable to switch back. Also, if your correspondence preference is online all your correspondence will be delivered electronically on  BT Panorama.

Will all my account history be moved?

We will move 7 years of your account statements to BT Panorama.  Historical transactions and performance history will not be moved. Read only access to Investor Online will remain to allow you to access historical transaction information for up to 12 months after the move.

How long will I have access to my moved account via Investor Online?

You will have read-only access to key account information via Investor Online until early in 2027. This includes access to payment and transaction details, account actions, portfolio valuation, ongoing fees, statements and correspondence we’ve sent you.

Will closed accounts be moved?

No. Closed accounts will not be moved to BT Panorama.

Read-only access to key information for accounts closed after 30 June 2023 will be available via Investor Online until early 2027. After 2027,  information on your closed account can be obtained by contacting us, subject to record management retention timeframes.

About the move section

Investments

What investment menus are available on BT Panorama?

BT Panorama offers a choice between the Compact menu or the Full menu, which offer different investment options and have different administration fees and costs.  From 1 October 2025, we’re also introducing a new menu, Focus – which will offer a substantially lower administration fee, for those with simpler investment needs. You can read more about the new investment menu, and compare it with our Compact and Full menus, on our pricing webpage and in the relevant disclosure document for your product.

Which investment menu will my account be moved to?

The menu your account will be moved to is dependent on the product you are invested in on Asgard. Read more on Investment menu mapping.

Is it possible to change the investment menu my account is moved to?

The menu can be changed only after the move to BT Panorama by completing the BT Panorama ‘Change of menu’ form which you will be able to access online or by calling us after your account is moved.

Will I have access to managed funds and managed portfolios once my account has moved?

BT Panorama makes it easy to invest, offering flexible options and high-quality service.  Once your account is moved, you will have access to a wide range of managed funds and managed portfolios investment options from BT and other leading providers.

Note the full range of investment options may not be available to everyone. If your account is moved to the Compact menu, or you choose to request to change to the Focus menu after the move, a smaller range of managed portfolios and managed funds may be available.

Will existing term deposits be moved?

Term deposits offered through the investment menu of Asgard Superannuation products and Asgard Investment products will gradually be removed to allow them to reach maturity prior to the transition weekend.

Twelve-month terms have already been removed from the investment menu. On 1 September 2025, 6-month terms will be removed, and 3-month terms will follow on 1 December 2025. This means there will be no existing term deposits to move at the time of the transition weekend.

What term deposits will be available after the move?

BT Panorama has a range of term deposits with a selection of interest payment maturity options. Once your account is moved, you can apply for a term deposit with a simple online application. There is no establishment fee, and you are kept up to date with automatic alerts such as 10 days maturity notice, early breaks, closures and more.

Term deposits on BT Panorama will be available after the move offering 1, 3 and 6-month terms, and 1, 3 and 5-year terms.

Will Asgard margin loans be moved?

To prepare for the move to BT Panorama, Asgard eWRAP Investment products no longer offered margin loans since18 May 2025.

We have provided investors with an existing eWRAP Margin Loan, or an external loan linked to an Asgard eWRAP Investment account, with information about how this change impacts their loan and any linked account in June 2025.

Will margin lending be available in BT Panorama?

Yes. You will have access to Westpac's margin lending solution which offers an easy and effective way to borrow to invest in a wider range of assets on BT Panorama, helping you to diversify investments and build wealth.

Margin lending is only available to Investment account holders.

Will the same managed funds be available on BT Panorama?

BT Panorama offers a wider range of investment styles and asset classes compared to Asgard, through diversified, sector and specialist funds. More information on managed funds and other investment options can be found in BT Panorama disclosures.

Will all other assets I hold on Asgard be moved?

Most of your assets will move to BT Panorama. But, certain investment options such as options that are not available on BT Panorama or long-term suspended assets may not be moved. Read more on Getting ready.

What will happen to illiquid assets?

Illiquid fund units will be transferred to BT Panorama, including any pending redemptions. More information will be provided in the detailed notice we’ll send you in early 2026.

What listed securities are available on BT Panorama?

You’ll be able to buy and sell ASX listed securities, including Exchange Traded Funds, with timely and tailored updates through BT Panorama’s Market Information Dashboard. You will be able to access news, ASX announcements and more.

Will the Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRP) held on a Custodial share account be moved?

BT Panorama does not offer the ability to elect to reinvest dividends for shares held on a Custodial share account. As a result, effective 18 May 2025, we removed the ability to elect a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRP) on Asgard.

Asgard members and investors who have existing DRP elections on their Custodial share account will have this dividend election option switched to cash dividends from mid-July 2025.

If you are impacted by this change, we sent you a letter letting you know what this means for you in June 2025.

This change will happen automatically. There is nothing for you to do. Once the change has been made, future dividends received for the listed securities will be paid in cash into your Asgard Cash account (for investment accounts) or into your Transaction account (for super/pension accounts). The change does not impact income distribution elections for managed funds, which will be transferred to BT Panorama as part of the move.

Will I still hold an individual Holder Identification Number (HIN)?

If you hold assets on a HIN, the HIN will be transferred to BT Panorama at the same time your account is moved.

If you have not traded or held listed securities on your share account for over 18 months, the HIN is considered dormant.  You will be contacted regarding cancellation of the dormant HIN with the option to instruct us to keep and move the HIN to BT Panorama.

Note there are different options to hold shares in BT Panorama, and it is easy to request a new HIN. Also, if you are a Super member and hold your listed securities under a Custodial HIN, you will be able to request to change to the Nominee HIN holding option after your account is moved to BT Panorama. This would result in the removal of the $300 pa fee that applies to Custodial HINs.

Will eCASH and CASH Connect account balances be moved?

For investment accounts, we will require your consent to automatically move your eCASH/CASH Connect account balance to the BT Cash Management Account (BT CMA) when we move your investment accounts to BT Panorama. Providing your consent, dependent on your cash balance, may help ensure your BT CMA meets the minimum cash balance for BT Panorama Investments (which is $2,000).  Read more on Getting ready, including how to provide the cash consent via an Investor Online eForm (or via a downloadable PDF form).

Standalone eCASH and CASH Connect account balances will be paid to the nominated bank account and we’re planning to close the standalone accounts following the move to BT Panorama. Impacted investors will receive a separate communication.

Will super transaction account balances be moved?

Yes. For super accounts, cash balances will be moved automatically to your new transaction account during the transition weekend.

Will existing linked bank account details be moved to BT Panorama?

Yes. Linked bank account details will automatically be moved to the new BT Panorama account, but for investment accounts this will only apply if you have provided consent for your cash balance to be moved.

Will existing direct debit arrangements be moved to BT Panorama?

No. Existing direct debit arrangements will not be moved to the new BT Panorama account and will have to be reestablished following the move. You’ll be able to establish direct debits by login to your BT Panorama account after the move.

What will happen to regular credit and debit payment arrangements that are in place with third parties?

You will be required to inform third parties of updated account details. New account details, including BPAY, will be provided to you  in communications issued closer to the move in early 2026.

Will existing investment instructions be moved to BT Panorama?

Yes. Existing investment instructions, such as an investment profile or regular investment plans, will be moved to BT Panorama.

Insurance

What insurance options are available on BT Panorama?

BT Panorama has a selection of insurance offers from TAL and AIA with the flexibility for advised investors and members to tailor their cover to meet their needs.

Speak to your financial adviser or visit TAL Adviser Centre and AIA Adviser Centre for more information.

Will my insurance cover be moved?

Your existing super-funded insurance policy (Protection Plans and Priority Protection for Platform Investors) linked to your account, your insurance policy number, policy terms, type and level of cover won’t change because of the move to BT Panorama.

Your payment authority will also continue, but there may be changes to the timing of your insurance premium deductions under that authority. More information will be provided to you in the detailed significant event notice we’ll provide in early 2026 (which will be at least 60 days prior to the move).

Will my Asgard Personal Protection Package (APPP) insurance be moved?

We are planning to move existing APPP insurance covers linked to super accounts to BT Panorama. Existing insurance cover and policy terms will continue, and claims will continue to the be processed. We are also working to ensure that APPP policy details will be accessible within BT Panorama following the move. Further information will be provided closer to the move.

Standalone APPP insurance cover will not be moved to BT Panorama. Existing standalone insurance cover and policy terms will continue, and claims will continue to be processed.

Additionally, from 25 August 2025, administration services for APPP insurance policies (standalone and within super) have transferred from Asgard Capital Management Limited (ACML) to an external administrator, Australian Group Insurances Pty Ltd (AGI). If you currently pay your APPP standalone insurance premiums via direct debit, you will need to resubmit your direct debit details. This will allow your direct debit arrangement to continue without disruption. Read more on APPP administrator change impacts on Getting ready.

What are the impacts on death benefit, permanent incapacity or terminal medical condition claims?

As this move will be done via an intra fund transfer, any accounts with claims in progress at the time of the move will continue to be processed on BT Panorama.

About the move section

Super and pension

What will happen to existing pension payment arrangements?

Existing pension details including the pension start date, amounts and frequencies will be transferred to BT Panorama with no impact on your pension deeming rates or transfer balance cap.

Once your account is moved to BT Panorama, you will benefit from increased flexibility of the timing of your pension payments and other benefits such as pension refresh capability.

Some restrictions may apply to moved pension accounts such as the ability to transfer to accumulation phase due to differences in recordings of cost base information.

More information will be provided closer to the move in early 2026.

Will there be any changes to scheduled pension payments leading up to or after the move?

The only change will occur in the month of the transition weekend when pension payments will be brought forward which will result in drawdowns made if there are insufficient funds in the transaction account to fund payments. More information will be provided in early 2026.

Will there be any changes to the minimum transaction account balance for pension members?

Scheduled pension payments often rely on the sale of investments. In the event of delays to investment redemptions, pension payments may be delayed.

To reduce the likelihood of the pension payments delays, from October 2025, the minimum transaction account balance for pension members on BT Panorama will increase from $2,000 to $4,000. This means the $4,000 minimum transaction account balance will apply to all Asgard pension accounts once moved to BT Panorama.

If the transaction account balance is below $4,000 for pension accounts, or $2,000 for non-pension accounts, a drawdown may occur, where investments held in the account will be sold (in accordance with the account's existing drawdown strategy) to increase the transaction account to the account’s minimum transaction account balance.

Will term allocated pension accounts be moved?

Yes. Term allocated pensions will be moved to BT Panorama.

Will I still receive Centrelink Schedules once the accounts are moved?

Yes. Centrelink Schedules will be available online in the BT Panorama document library. BT Panorama also allows for Centrelink Schedules to be requested online at any time.

Will pre-transfer contribution history be available on BT Panorama?

Yes. You will be able to view your total concessional and non-concessional contribution summary for the financial years 2024/25 and 2025/26. Personal contribution information will also be moved to BT Panorama for these same financial years to enable personal deduction notices.

How will I manage contributions on BT Panorama?

Once we move your account, you will be able to perform these actions to manage contributions:

  • Make a single or recurring contribution to the account (available for accounts with a valid TFN only).
  • Make an in-specie asset transfer of managed funds and/or Australian listed securities as a personal and/or spouse contribution.
  • View details about all the contributions made to the account.
  • Review your bank account details used for your BT Panorama account.
  • Apply for contributions splitting.

How will I make personal contributions into my BT Panorama account?

There are three ways to make a personal contribution in BT Panorama:

  • BPAY biller codes
  • Linked bank account – You can set up one-off or regular contribution(s) from a linked bank account.
  • Direct credit/electronic funds transfer (EFT) for contributions – One-off or regular contribution(s) can be made via direct debit from an external bank account.

Will there be a new Unique Super Identifier (USI) for employer contributions?

Yes. BT Panorama has a different USI. Super members will need to complete a new Choice of Super Fund form and give it to their employer following the move of their account. Your Welcome pack will also include the required form with the correct USI details pre-filled. You’ll receive this once the move is complete.

To give you enough time to do this, we will have a USI redirect in place once we move the accounts. More information will be provided closer to the move in early 2026.

Will Personal Tax Deduction Notices (PTDN) be accepted?

Personal Tax Deduction Notices received on Asgard prior to the move will be accepted but may not be processed until the move has been completed.

Members will also be able to provide a PTDN or variation in respect of contributions made to Asgard after they are moved to BT Panorama.

Will beneficiaries be transferred as part of the move?

Yes. Beneficiaries will automatically be moved across to the equivalent Panorama Super nomination.

What will happen to existing binding death nominations?

As part of our commitment to ensuring minimal disruption, we will launch a binding death nomination offer on BT Panorama before moving your account. All existing binding death nominations will be transferred to BT Panorama. If you have elected the online correspondence method, you will no longer receive binding death nomination expiry notices/notifications through the post. After the move to BT Panorama, these expiry notifications will be sent electronically.

About the move section

Tax and reporting

Will there be any tax impacts because of the move?

There will generally be no Capital Gains Tax on the transfer of assets to BT Panorama as there is no change in beneficial ownership.  If you hold non-transferring assets you will be contacted separately.

Taxes will generally not be deducted from superannuation member accounts at the time we move the accounts, except if members have received a rollover during the 2025/26 financial year from an untaxed source or for members who received contributions and have not provided a tax file number.  The tax provisioned on income, contributions and capital gains for the 2025/26 financial year will be transferred to, and deducted from, your BT Panorama account, along with taxes on income received. This includes income from monthly PAYG instalments, the annual tax payments or on account closure or commencement of pension.  There are some differences in the way in which tax is calculated and applied in BT Panorama.

More information will be provided in the detailed significant event notice we will provide in early 2026.

Will the move impact myGov?

Shortly after the move of accounts is complete, new account details will be shown on myGov.

Contributions (super only) or retirement phase events (pension only) may be delayed in displaying on your myGov account during the freeze period only. This potential delay needs to be considered when assessing contribution caps and transfer balance caps during that time.

How will statements be delivered?

In the first year after the move, your annual statement will be split into two documents: One for the period before the accounts were moved and one for the period after.

There will also be two PAYG payment summaries except for the annual Salary Continuance Insurance (SCI) PAYG payment summary, which will be consolidated for the financial year of the transfer.  The payment summaries will provide you with the same information you’re used to receiving in your preferred communication format – paper or online.

Will historic statements be available on BT Panorama?

All newly issued statements and historical statements (for up to 7 years only) will be made available online in the document library on BT Panorama. You will also have continuous access to your statement history via Investor Online until 2027.

What kind of financial year-end support will be provided on BT Panorama??

We will support you in year-end activities with access to our statement dates and FAQS available on our Statement dates and FAQs webpage. Our team will also be on hand to answer any additional questions you may have at the time.
