Other types of Insurance

Insuring against the loss or damage of the things you have worked so hard for is essential. Protecting your lifestyle, whether it's your travel plans, the beautiful home you live in or the car you drive, may be done by taking out appropriate cover.

  • Travel Insurance - can cover you for things such as urgent medical assistance, lost luggage and/or assistance with making an urgent trip home due to an emergency. It may also cover you if you have to cancel your holiday before you leave under certain circumstances.
  • Car Insurance - Compulsory Third Party (CTP) cover is limited to protection for personal injury. Comprehensive motor insurance provides far greater protection for you, your vehicle and any other parties or property involved in an incident such as an accident or theft.
  • Home & Contents Insurance - Most insurers will tailor home and contents policies to meet your needs whether you're an owner or renter. Some policies will even protect your belongings outside the home.

BT is a member of the Westpac group. Westpac can assist you with car, home and travel insurance.

Additional Insurance Options
  • Needlestick Benefit
  • Children's Benefit
  • Homemakers Cover

Insuring against the loss or damage of the things you have worked so hard for is essential.

  • Needlestick Benefit - If you are employed as a doctor or medical professional, then our needlestick benefit may be right for you. You can be covered for up to $1,000,000 and we'll pay the sum insured if you are diagnosed with:
    • occupationally acquired HIV, or
    • occupationally acquired hepatitis
      B or C.
  • Children's Benefit - No one likes to think that anything bad could happen to our children, however, many young children each year are diagnosed with serious medical conditions, and some tragically lose their lives through accidents or illness.

Although our Children's Benefit can't stop these events from happening, it can help ease the financial impact of such events. In some cases it could give your child a better chance of survival and quality of life.

Our Children's Benefit pays a lump sum, up to a maximum of $200,000, if your child suffers from one of a range of specific conditions.

  • Homemakers cover - Even though full time homemakers don't earn an income, we recognise that it would cost a substantial amount of money to pay someone else to do their job when they can't. That's why we introduced a Home Duties option to our Income Protection and Income Protection Plus policies.

The Home Duties option provides a monthly benefit for homemakers if they become severely disabled, due to sickness or injury, and are unable to perform their normal household duties.

The maximum benefit for Home Duties is $5,000 per month for 2 years.
