How BT invests super

Investment returns are historical. Investment returns can move up or down and past performance is not necessarily indicative of future performance.

Invest in experience

When it comes to investing, experience matters. Since 1969 BT has been helping Australians manage and grow their super.

Super is a valuable investment, and the choices you make for your super today can have a huge impact on your future retirement lifestyle.

We offer a range of super options to suit most needs – no matter if you are just starting out in the workforce or ready to hang up your work boots for good.

Our approach to sustainable investing

Sustainable investing (also referred to as responsible investing) is about taking a long-term view of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) impacts of our investment decisions.

This means that when we’re making investment decisions on your behalf, we look at the long-term impact of those investments, and identify companies that are well positioned for the future. Investing sustainably also means we can choose to avoid those which may underperform or fail based on activities that could signal a risk or influence these companies to become more sustainable.

At BT we have been investing sustainably for many years, and we apply this approach to the BT MySuper Lifestage investment options. We have a public Responsible Investment Position Statement which tells you when and how we incorporate sustainability across our range of products and investment options. More information on our commitment to sustainability and community can be found here.

Lifestage investment options

Our default Lifestage investment approach is designed to ensure your super can adapt as you move through different stages of your life – to help target higher returns when you’re younger, and reduce investment volatility as you get closer to retirement.

You simply leave the investing to us. We automatically adjust the mix of your super invested across growth and defensive investment assets throughout your working life so you can focus on saving for retirement – rather than how to invest.
