Depending on your needs, the AIA rehabilitation team have a range of programs to support you including:
The Mind Coach program is designed to assist those who are suffering from anxiety or depression and uses cognitive behavioural therapy strategies to assist members in coping with difficult situations they may be facing. Over seven phone sessions, Mind Coach introduces a range of helpful, simple tips and tools to help people be happier and healthier every day. Members are offered this program when their claim is accepted.
Pain Coaching is a one-on-one program that teaches members active strategies and management techniques to live better with pain. Pain is about protection. The brain ‘creates’ the pain in response to trauma, as a way of alerting the body and protecting it from further injury. However, in chronic pain sufferers, the pain continues long after the tissue has healed - the brain has ‘learnt’ the pain and become overly protective.
Pain Coaching was designed in collaboration with Professor Lorimer Mosely and the University of South Australia. The goal of the program is to re-train the body’s overly protective pain system, where participants learn how to retrain the brain and move more freely. The program also focuses on how stretching, diet and nutrition, sleep, and positive thinking to settle the pain system. Members are offered this program when their claim is accepted.
Cancer Aid is a six week coaching program over the phone to provide members who are living with cancer the information and education to help them through their illness. Members can download a mobile app for free to assist with symptom tracking, activity tracking, exercise education, oncology nutrition advice, sleep and mindfulness strategies, all based on clinically proven science. CancerAid brings together the individualised attention of professional health coaches with a researched curriculum and manageable, but powerful, goals. Members are offered this program when they make a claim, and it continues to be available whether the claim is accepted or not.
We also provide extra support when your claim has been approved and you’re on a longer road to recovery. AIA’s RESTORETM programs are designed to help you to get back to the life you enjoy and your work faster.

RESTORE CaRe™ is for individuals recovering from cancer and is designed with wellness and return to work goals in mind. It’s tailored to the needs of the individual and addresses specific challenges including fatigue, cognitive changes, and other side effects. It includes a functional upgrading program designed by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist to help develop fitness for everyday activities and preparation for return to work.
Members who have made a claim may be offered a relevant program to support them, by their Claims Consultant.
