What happens to my super when I die?

If you die your super account balance and any insurance payout become your death benefit.

The Trustee of the super fund must determine who should receive your death benefit based on superannuation law and the rules of the Trust deed.  To ensure your benefit is paid in the manner you wish, you should formally nominate your preferred beneficiaries.
