Remove pop-up blockers

Are you having difficulties downloading PDF's?
If you use a Microsoft XP based computer you might experience that you cannot download the PDF's.

Are you not sure if you are you working on a Microsoft Windows XP based computer?

  1. Click the 'Start' button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  2. Select 'Settings'.
  3. Select 'Control panel'.
  4. Click 'System' to see the description of the system you are using. (if you cannot see system you need to click 'Performance and Maintenance' first.

Fix the problem
Depending on the settings on your computer, one or several of the methods below might solve the problem for you.

Turn the Pop-up Blocker off

For Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select 'Tools' from the top menu.
  3. Select 'Internet Options'.
  4. Select the 'Privacy' tab.
  5. Make sure there is no tick next to 'Block pop-ups'.
  6. Click the 'OK' button.

Change File Type setting

For Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 or 2 (SP1 or SP2)

  1. Click the 'Start' button in the bottom left corner.
  2. Select 'My Documents'.
  3. Select 'Tools' from the top menu.
  4. Select 'Folder Options...'.
  5. Select the 'File Types' tab.
  6. Scroll through the list of registered file types and click 'XLS Microsoft Excel Worksheet'.

  7. Click the 'Advanced' button.

  8. Make sure there is no tick next to 'Browse in same window'.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Click OK.

Allow all pop-ups from this site

For Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)

  1. If the box below appears when you try and download a PDF, click 'OK'.

  2. Use your mouse to click at the information bar shown at the top of the browser window ('Pop-up blocked. To see..). After clicking the information bar, the sub menu will show as below.

  3. Click on Always Allow Pop-ups from this site' (shown in the sub menu above). The box below appears.

  4. Click the 'Yes' button. The box below appears.

  5. Click the 'Retry' button.

Change setting on Google or Yahoo toolbar

When you open Internet Explorer, do you see either of the toolbars below in your screen?

If yes, select pop-up blocker, and select to disable from the drop-down menu.

Are you still having difficulties downloading PDF's?

If you still have difficulties downloading PDF's after having changed the settings as described above, try holding the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard down while clicking to download a PDF. You must repeat this every time you want to download a PDF.
