What is Living Insurance?
Living Insurance pays a lump sum benefit if you suffer from one of a range of specific medical conditions such as cancer, a heart condition or loss of a limb.
This money is often used to:
- pay medical expenses
- aid recovery by allowing you to take time off work
- make any necessary lifestyle changes
- invest and then draw down to replace lost income to cover daily living costs
Living Insurance provides choices for people who are concerned about protecting themselves and their dependants in the event that they suffer a particular type of medical condition. These choices may include taking extended time off work to recover, receiving medical treatment, or providing financial security in order to retire early or work part time. Medical treatment can be very expensive and the additional funds which Living Insurance provides can alleviate the financial strain of major hospital expenses and may also allow you to obtain superior medical treatment. Often it is appropriate to use this cover to supplement (or “top-up”) your income protection insurance.
By reducing financial stress, Living Insurance makes it easier for you to get back to good health.
Living insurance cover can be added to a Term Life policy as an additional benefit, or can be provided as a standalone policy. Living insurance is not available in SuperWrap.
