About Westpac and BT
Part of the Westpac Group, BT Financial Group has been helping Australians create, manage and protect their wealth since 1969.
BT in the community
Investing in the communities in which we live and work is fundamental to the sustainability of our business. Our people are passionate about the well-being of our customers and the wider community because helping others is part of our culture.
Employee volunteering
At BT, we make it easy for our people to get involved and support the community group of their choice. In particular, each year we support the efforts of our people with paid leave to volunteer for a recognised community group or charity of their choice.
Our people also take part in team-based fundraising for initiatives such as Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, and provide support for environmental initiatives such as Clean Up Australia Day and Earth Hour.
Cape York Partnership
Since 2001, BT and Westpac have been committed to improving the lives of the Indigenous Communities of Cape York. Working with Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships (IEP) – a not-for-profit organisation channelling corporate and philanthropic resources into Indigenous development – our people have undertaken secondments in Cape York to improve indigenous lives.
Matching Gifts
Our people choose the charities we support. Through our Matching Gifts Program, we match the donations of our employees, dollar for dollar, to any tax-deductible charity in Australia. This way, we can support a diverse range of causes that our people are passionate about.
Since Westpac Matching Gifts first began in December, 1998close to $15 million has been disbursed to more than 1,100 charities via the scheme.
