Westpac General Insurance today announced it will expand its product line-up and introduce new ways of accessing products, making it easier for customers to protect their valuable assets and belongings through the Westpac Group.

Under a new arrangement with insurer Allianz Australia Insurance Limited, Westpac General Insurance will consolidate its customer offerings by sourcing products from Allianz, including its Motor, Travel and Business Insurance.

Westpac General Insurance will continue to offer its own competitively benchmarked Home & Contents cover together with the sourced Allianz line of products. All products will be made available through Westpac’s vast network of branches, contact centres and online, and will be offered under the Westpac Group banking brands.

A further boost to Westpac General Insurance’s offerings will include:

  • The addition of new mobile apps and tablet access to insurance, providing flexibility to customers at every point of the insurance process;
  • New protection solutions for Westpac Group customers to choose from, with the addition of the Allianz-sourced products of Caravan & Trailer, Marine Pleasurecraft, and Farm Insurance.

BT Financial Group General Manager, Insurance and Investments David Lees, said that the new arrangement with Allianz signalled a leap forward in strengthening the Westpac business, with changes that will see customers being able to access a wider variety of protection solutions and convenient new access features.

“Offering our own popular Home & Contents together with Allianz’s quality sourced products will enable us to support our customers with a comprehensive range of protection options.

“The expanded range of options and new digital solutions will provide a one stop shop for customers to insure their valuable assets and belongings at a time and in a way that suits them,” Mr Lees said.

The new product range and access to Westpac General Insurance’s new channels of choice will be phased in over the coming months and will be available to customers by the end of 2015.
