BT Multi-manager Funds maintain "High Quality" overall rating by Chant West

Following a recent extensive review, Chant West one of the leading independent research houses has reconfirmed the current “4 Apples” rating for the 2008 calendar year for BT as a multi-manager provider, as well as to each of BT’s Multi-manager Funds. In a rating system of 1 to 5 apples, the 4 apples rating means that Chant West believes that BT’s multi-manager funds are "high quality, with a high likelihood of achieving investment objectives".

During the review process, Chant West evaluated the issuer’s ability to construct multi-manager products that represent industry best practice, as well as the products themselves. Among the strengths of BT’s multi‑manager expertise that were highlighted by Chant West in the review were:

  • Strong internal investment team
  • Effective use of Watson Wyatt as investment consultant
  • Willingness to go for ‘best in class’ and not be constrained by short term   business risks
  • Addition of a wider range of investment strategies including alternative assets
  • Strong parent

These ratings demonstrate Chant West’s ongoing support of BT’s multi-manager capabilities and a positive endorsement of the enhancements we have introduced to the funds over the last year.

With the combination of maintaining good ratings from Chant West, the ‘Recommended’ rating from Lonsec and the ‘Buy’ rating from IWL, BT Multis are well placed to continue delivering advisors’ needs for a quality and consistent diversified investment product that allows them more time to focus on existing and new customers.

The important milestone of adding BT Multi-manager funds to  the Wrap Advantage program, effective from today, also means that the BT Multis are provided to investors for a lower cost than previously, driving our customer focus even harder.
